Nearby Computing Named 2023 a Gartner ® Cool Vendor in Edge Computing
Barcelona, Spain, October, 2023
Nearby Computing has been recognized as a Cool Vendor in the Edge Computing market report₁ by Gartner, a company that delivers actionable, objective insight to executives and their teams. This report is designed to highlight interesting, new, and innovative vendors, products and services. As per Gartner,” I&O leaders deploying edge computing should consider these cool vendors that address use cases now, but enable future extensibility.”
The adoption of edge computing presents new revenue opportunities based on driving business value. STL Partners estimates the edge computing market to be worth $445 billion by 2030. However, there are critical issues that currently limit the widespread adoption of new edge computing solutions. To overcome these limitations and embrace the edge computing paradigm, the key objective is to simplify the management and reduce the cost of edge infrastructure. Nearby Computing’s NearbyOne is an edge-to-cloud platform and orchestration framework designed to overcome these limitations and facilitate the adoption of edge computing.
According to Gartner’s report, “NearbyOne is an edge management and orchestration (EMO) solution that simplifies edge stack management. While many EMO solutions focus on managing specific layers (e.g., applications, network elements, hardware, software platforms, applications), NearbyOne is unique in combining the management of multiple elements in an edge topology – routers, servers, virtual network functions and edge applications, managed with a single pane of glass. It enables customer-defined dynamic orchestration policies to meet SLAs, and it has a composer to orchestrate and chain actions together. While applicable cross-industry, their early successes have been for the telecom network edge, utilities, aerospace, and defense.”
“We’re thrilled to be listed as a Cool Vendor in Edge Computing by Gartner. We have big plans for 2024 and beyond to build on the success we’ve had so far in helping our customers realize the benefits of edge computing in a variety of use cases. After more several commercial and innovation projects, the solution is the most flexible in the market as it can be deployed in different environments, from any hyperscalers infrastructure to private clouds and even on-premises ”
